Obverse: Crowned and veiled old head bust of Queen Victoria, left (similar to coinage). Signed: 'T.B.' on the truncation.
Legend: 'VICTORIA ANNVM REGNI SEXAGESIMVM FELICITER CLAVDIT XX IVN.MDCCCXCVII.'

Reverse: Bareheaded young head of Queen Victoria, left (similar to earlier coinage). Across on the left:
'LONGI- / -TVDO / DIERVM / IN / DEXTERA / EIVS' and on the right: 'ET IN / SINISTRA / GLORIA'.
Below the truncation, a laurel branch with a ribbon to tied to it and the date: '1837'.

Notes: All the medals come in the same sized red case with a crown in gilt above: '1837-1897' in an arc,
lined on the inside with white silk and blue velvet.
