Date: Stephanus Johannes Paulus Kruger was born in 1825. He was the third child of Caspar Jan Hendrik Kruger and Elisa Steijn who were simple farmers.

Place: Vaalbank Farm in the Colesberg district of the Cape Colony 

Born on October 10 1825 at his grandfather's farm, Bulhoek in the Steynsburg district.

The 2 oz Piedfort Krugerrand is a gold coin that is twice as thick and heavy as the standard 1 oz Krugerrand coin. The word "Piedfort" comes from the French words pied (foot) and fort (heavy).
