Description:

The 2011 R2 coins were launched for the first time in the heart of the Kalahari. It was also the first time the SA Mint has minted coins here. It was also the first time that the S A Mint did a launch via You Tube which was uploaded for everyone to see.

2011 R2 feature the KHOI SAN heritage and portrays the present day sharman (ritual specialist) holding a stick and a rock painting in which the San women and men take part in a trance dance. 

SOME INTERESTING INFORMATION: The distinct clicks of the Khoi San language, once found nowhere else, have been incorporated in Zulu and Xhosa speech. They have also contributed to the Afrikaans and South African English with words such as "eina" (ouch) and "aikhona" (absolutely not).
