The Mint had difficulty fitting the required inscriptions on the small gold coins. President Roosevelt, in April 1908, convinced Mint Director Frank Leach that it would be a better idea to strike a design similar to that of the eagle, but below the background, to secure a high-relief effect. 1909 $10 WAS DESIGNED BY AUGUSTUS SAINT-GAUDENS, BOTH FOR THE OBVERSE AND THE REVERSE OF THIS MEDAL STRUCK COIN THE COIN ABOVE IS NOW AVAILABLE AT AN EXTRA SPECIAL PRICE GRADED AT MS 61 AS PER THE IMAGE ABOVE R 16 000 Superb Gold numismatic coin Don't miss this price opportunity offer based on a first come first served basis contact us on +27 (0)789 2233 Details

Although the sculptor had poor experiences with the Mint and its chief engraver, Charles E. Barber, Saint-Gaudens accepted Roosevelt's call. The work was subject to considerable delays, due to Saint-Gaudens's declining health and difficulties because of the high relief of his design. Saint-Gaudens died in 1907, after designing the eagle and double eagle, but before the designs were finalized for production. 1912 $10 WAS DESIGNED BY AUGUSTUS SAINT-GAUDENS, BOTH FOR THE OBVERSE AND THE REVERSE OF THIS MEDAL STRUCK COIN THE COIN ABOVE IS NOW AVAILABLE AT AN EXTRA SPECIAL PRICE GRADED AT MS 62 AS PER THE IMAGE ABOVE R 16 000 Superb Gold numismatic coin Don't miss this price opportunity offer based on a first come first served basis contact us on +27 (0)789 2233 Details
