IN THE YEAR 2002, EUROPEANS REACHED A TURNING POINT IN HISTORY: EACH OF THE 12 EUROPEAN NATIONS GAVE UP THEIR OWN INDIVIDUAL CURRENCIES IN FAVOR OF A NEW ONE - THE EURO
The EURO is much more than just a new currency, it will connect some 300 million Europeans in a very special way. Everyones EURO coins and banknotes began circulating in each of the participating countries after the release on January 1st in 2002.
Using the new currency became very exciting as each nation had designed its own reverse side. Now, the change that would be brought back from one European country can be used in another without the previous currency exchange hassels, different rates and transaction fees.
Each of the 12 participating nations are represented with their own very informative page. The coins are inserted into specially marked precision cut spaces. Through the clear labelling and illustrations, you can quickly see where each coin belongs. Inportant information is offered as well, such as the history of the development of the European unification - from its early days to the final conversion to the Euro.
