Rhino's face a dire threat from poaching and rank among the most endangered species on earth. Their horns are made up of keratin, and therefore are sought after for their supposed medicinal purposes.
Introduced for the first time in 2019 , this edition of the Big Five Series features the Rhino. The reverse depicts two halves of the face of a rhino, so that, when two coins are placed next to each other, a single face will be seen. The obverse shows a single image of the rhino's face.
This set also includes the iconic Krugerrand now minted in fine silver as well. In this instance the set with the silver Krugerrand has a unique mint mark of the rhino laser marked on the reverse of the Krugerrand
